Apple plans to let you shop for an iPhone from your Watch (Update)

Next they’ll “let you” shop for Apple TV with their iPad.

    Any word on #tattoogate?

    • Ragnar Dragonfyre

Well, wearing a watch/bracelet for extended periods of time will wear off your tattoo.

Apple is just looking out for you 😉

    • Mo Dabbas

that’s not what tatto gate is about. to summarize, the watch doesn’t work well on inked arms.

    • Any word if #tattoogate affects other heart rate sensors?

    • hoo dat

They probably do. But they’re also unlikely to vehemently blame their own consumers first, neither are they likely to tell them that they’re wearing them wrong!

    • You mean they’re unlikely to make a compilation video of their own hardware and competitors’ hardware suffering from identical problems when placed in identical circumstances? Unbelievable!

    • hoo dat

Sigh. I was just about to post a detailed rebuttal about time, previous flawed product launches, knowledge and shifting blame. But you know what? No matter what I post, say or type it just won’t make a difference to you will it? It’s the same old story, over and over and over again.
      I’m done.

    • “No matter what I post, say or type it just won’t make a difference to you will it?”

If we’re talking about death grips affecting the signal strength of all devices that rely on radio waves then that’s already been proven beyond a reasonable doubt, so unless you have overwhelming evidence to the contrary you’re right that it won’t make a difference.

What colour is the sky in your world, Brad?

    • A mix of vermilion and chartreuse.

Are you trying to claim that the human body doesn’t absorb radio waves?

    • hoo dat

Did I ever make or even hint at such a claim? Absolutely not, quit deflecting.

    • How am I deflecting?

You made the allusion to antennagate with the line “neither are they likely to tell them that they’re wearing them wrong!”. I pointed out that antennagate (and tattoogate) affects all devices equally, regardless of brand, and that there are several videos to prove it. You asked if anything you said would make a difference, implying that my claim was incorrect and that you had a counter-claim you thought was correct. I told you that if we were talking about antennagate that you’d have to contradict the evidence that the human body interferes with radio waves, since that’s the cause of antennagate. Your response was to ask me what colour the sky was, implying that I’m not sound of mind and that not all devices are affected equally.

So, yes, short of writing it explicitly that’s exactly what you’ve claimed so far.

You give me far too much credit and read far more into my posts than is actually there. I’m done, I should have quit when I originally said I would, nothing good is going to come out of this conversation and I knew it then. By all means, Brad, feel free to carry on without me but me, I’m going to enjoy my Friday night and actually achieve something while I’m doing it. Ciao!

I don’t own an iPhone. Does this mean that I can buy an Apple Watch first and then use the watch to shop for the required iPhone? This could bring new meaning to the Chicken / Egg dilemma.

  • Columbo

Sounds like an episode of Pimp My Ride. “Now you can use your Apple watch to find an Apple store to speak to an Apple employee about buying a phone that you need to operate your Apple watch!”

    • Marc Palumbo

Now if only Disqus supported memes! We would have a beautiful Xzibit meme here.

  • Eric

Maybe once my Apple Watch comes in June 🙁

  • Mo Dabbas

I don’t think I can shop from a smartwatch. The screen is too big. I need somethings smaller to get the best shopping experience.

    • Maybe a ring with a built-in display, force-sensitive touch sensors, and gyroscopic motion sensors?

  • zx5

don’t you need a iPhone to use the watch?!?!
