Kyocera announced the purchase of Sanyo’s mobile phone division for US$375 million and will be finalized for the beginning of both companies fiscal year on April 1st. Kyocera hopes the deal will allow for increased market share in the U.S. and other markets. All 2,000 Sanyo employees will be offered positions within Kyocera and will continue to produce Sanyo-branded handsets.
