The AKG by Harman headphones Samsung said will be included with every S8 smartphone sold in the U.S., will also be included with Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ units sold through Canadian carriers and retailers, Samsung Canada confirmed today.
The headphones, according to the company, are worth $100 USD. Samsung says the headphones are shipping with the device in part so that users can appreciate the quality of sound made possible by the phone’s 32-bit DAC.
All of this should come as good news to Canadian consumers as past smartphone haven’t always shipped with the headphones hardware OEMs have promised for markets. For example, when the V20 launched in the U.S., the phone shipped with Bang & Olufsen H3 in-ear headphones.
In Canada, meanwhile, only V20s sold through Videotron came with the $200 headphones.
