Several major tech firms are teaming up to launch a digital transformation accelerator designed specifically to help Canadian business better make the transition to the digital era.

The technology companies involved with DXagents project include DeloitteSAPAmazon Web Services (AWS), IntelSUSE, CIO Association of Canada (CIOCAN), Financial Executives International Canada (FEI Canada), TDWI and the B2B News Network.

In this respect, digital transformation refers to the adoption of technologies such as cloud, big data and social media for enterprise purposes. Recent research from IDC confirms that over 63 percent of Canadian businesses are lagging on the innovation front, leaving themselves at a disadvantage against bolder competitors.

DXagents was created to bring CIOs, CFOs and other decision makers in Canada together to collaborate on this cross-country movement.

“I’ve seen firsthand what it takes to turn a big ship and transform in response to market conditions,” said John Graham, president and CEO of SAP Canada, in a statement.

“It was invariably purposeful partnerships, shared successes and distributed knowledge that led to the most effective change, which is why I believe this consortium is such a powerful opportunity for Canada,” he continued.

The accelerator will provide digital readiness guides, starter kits, needs assessments and other resources for its members. Furthermore, DXagents will hold multiple workshop events in the coming months, including April 11 in Montreal, April 12-13 in Ottawa and April 18 in Toronto while simultaneously holding a competition to find Canada’s most inspiring digital transformation stories.
