Since the release its excellent Play:5 bookshelf speaker last November, we haven’t heard much from Sonos. Sure, the company did announce integration with media management app Plex last month, which is great news, but the company has been quiet on the product front.
That’s about to change.
Yesterday Sonos started sending out media invites to an event in plans to host on August 30th. With copy like, “Sonos and the Future of Sound at Home” and “Come here how it’s all connected,” the invite (seen below) is vague, hinting at any number of possible products.
Perhaps Sonos plans to announce something along the lines of an Amazon Echo competitor?
It would certainly be the on-trend thing to do — see: Google and Apple. In any case, we’ll see what the company has up its sleeve August 30th. In the meantime, tell us what you think Sonos will announce in the comments section below.
