Nexus 7 16GB now shipping in 1-2 weeks, 8GB version can be had in 3-5 days

If you’re roaring to get a Nexus 7 in the next week or so, you’re probably going to have more luck ordering the 8GB version. Due to high demand, Google has pushed back the shipping time for the 16GB model to 1-2 weeks, while the 8GB version ships in 3-5 days. The 8GB model is $209 and the 16GB is $259.

Considering retailers like Staples will have the device on shelves by July 23rd, it might be a smarter move to wait until then. Canadians are reporting pre-order shipping notices for the 8GB model, while its bigger brother has yet to budge from warehouse shelves for many of you.

To recap, the Nexus 7 comes with a 7-inch 1280×800 screen, a 1.3Ghz quad-core Tegra 3 processor and it runs Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean. Check out our review to see what we thought (hint: we liked it!).
