Virgin intros a $5 Unlimited Canadian long distance add-on (Talk and Text plans only)

Last week Virgin rolled out a promo that gave Unlimited Canadian long distance for $10/month. This was made available to all their plans, but only until September 30th. Today, those Virgin Angels showed a bit more love by reducing the monthly charge by 50% to those who have – or will have -  a basic talk and text plan. Unlimited Canadian long distance for $5/month is available today “until further notice” on all Virgin devices, but only for those who have the Talk and Text 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 and Unlimited 45 plans.

(Thanks tipster!)

    • Mr. Troll. You have failed since this has nothing to do with RIM. GTFO

Ontopic – Pretty sweet deal i might say. Wish other carries could do this. Virgin has been getting good deals & good phones lately.

  3. Surprisingly decent deal.
Are the smaller brands like Koodo and Virgin starting to feel the pressure from Mobi and Wind?

Who knows, but it seems like it to me when these kind of deals come out.

  5. Or you could just join Koodo. Where you don’t have to add on $5 for long distance.

  8. If they can do $5 for unlimited long distance, charging $6 for Call Display does sound outrages!

  10. Yes Koodo includes this, but you have to pay $5 more monthly to add unlimited texting to your Koodo plan, so in essence, they are the same thing if you have both.

  11. Talked with Fido this morning to see what they can do about LD calls and the best they could offer me was 100mn for 5$ a month or 20$ unlimited. I really need to move to Koodo, but I would lose my 37.5$ a month plan and it’s kind of perfect for me right now. Maybe Fido will have this addon soon.

Rogers and Fido are way back right now in deals. They should try to follow at least. And they offer nothing for you to stay. They will surely call me back when I’ll move to another provider, but as always, it will be too late.

  13. @eguia

Yeah, I used to have the same plan and think the same but Mobilicity’s lack of coverage (even in areas advertised as covered) made me move to Koodo. With Mobi I almost forgot how it was to have a cell phone- I was just paying the bill for a very limited service.
