New wireless entrant Mobilicity has been saying for months now that “Competition is Coming”… and today they are announcing their wireless plans, devices and business model. Mobilicity stands for “Mobile and Simplicity” and has the tag line of “No Contract. No Credit Check. Unlimited Wireless”.
During the Canadian Wireless Spectrum Auction back in 2008 they invested $243.1-million for 10 licenses and will first launch in Toronto, followed by Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Ottawa. The official launch date for Toronto is Saturday at 10:00am from any one of their 35 corporate locations and over the next week they will be also available in over 200 distribution locations. They currently have over 180 employees and we’re told their call centre is located Ontario.
Here are a breakdown of their unlimited plans, devices and coverage. There are 6 plans to choose from and 6 devices that can be purchased on a no-contract model and require no credit checks either. We were informed that all Mobilicity plans are unlimited, include free caller ID, Mobilicity to Mobilicity calling.
