With all the new competition coming out in Canada hopefully our cellphone bills will drop. Checking out this video it looks that the CBC Marketplace is doing a story on who has “Canada’s Worst Cellphone Bill”.
They are looking for submissions and state “Have you ever received a shocking cellphone bill? Are you mad or confused about how it all adds up? Feeling like you got ripped off with big, big charges? Send us your bill and tell us your story because you just might be the one holding Canada’s Worst Cellphone Bill.”
Check out the video and you might be one of the chosen one’s who are part of the Worst Bill in Canada.
(Thanks Shaun!)

“I was being charged for incoming calls, which wasn’t part of my plan, which they didn’t tell me”
Don’t make excuses, even a 12 year old wouldn’t make that mistake.

Cancellation fees of $1000 dollars? Who is this guy signed up with?

While that woman should have known she would get charged for incoming, I am beginning to think that is silly. My roommate who is from Thailand and his Japanese girlfriend were telling me today how the whole idea of them being charged for incoming was crazy and that they had only had that while living here.

A 12-year old coming in from Europe wouldn’t know about incoming charges, since those don’t exist there.
As far as I’m concerned, and I think it’s backed up by actual studies, this country has decent quality phone service at an outrageous price. We’re being gouged and few people complain.
I’m not in Wind’s coverage area but I hope and pray the main carriers react to their pricing. 35$ for unlimited data would be sweet, and if Videotron offers similar deals (cross your fingers, on both hands, and your toes too), I’d even accept to go to AWS for that.
That N900 is looking very appealing right now!

Don’t get mad get even. Contact the Commissioner for Complaints for Telecommunications Services (CCTS) http://www.ccts-cprst.ca CCTS is an independent agency with a mandate to receive, to facilitate the resolution of and if necessary resolve eligible consumer and small business complaints relating to certain retail telecommunications services. Complaints are what put the lemon law in place for the auto industry. I’ve somebody close using SOLO and due to financial hardship have fallen behind in payments and was not allowed to adjust the contract to a lower more affordable one as originally told was allowed to suiting their needs and was suspended. The consumer is now being billed for months not allowed to be used with late interest charges. I also recall a friend without a phone for weeks on a contract they were paying for on monthly bases because it wasn’t operational and needed repair and after searching I’ve found endless problem and complaint of other providers as well. Interested in hearing feedback on resolutions being SOLO, Bell, Telus, Rodgers, Fido, KOODO, Virgin, etc. http://twitter.com/phonecontract/comments
