70% of Canadians say searching points of interest when using GPS is important

nokia-red-e71We knew that launched the E71 in two exclusive colours last week, Red and Black. In addition, this comes preloaded with the newest version of Ovi Maps.

Nokia and Angus Reid recently conducted a online survey that asked is it “important to them to have visually-guided, turn by turn pedestrian/walk navigation as a part of their GPS application?”. The survey was conducted between October 26th to October 27th, 2009 of 1,000 adult Canadians and found:

- 60% of Canadians say that it is important to them to have visually-guided, turn by turn pedestrian/walk navigation as a part of their GPS application.
- 70% of Canadians say that it is important to them to be able to search for points of interest when using a GPS tool
- 51% want to be able to search for nearby events.

    2. Download the google maps app and stop crying about POI’s for good. It’s such a 2007 concern.
