Today, December 17, 2015, marks the two year birthday of OnePlus. To celebrate the occasion, the Chinese startup is releasing a new variant of its recently released OnePlus X smartphone. Available first in Europe, though scheduled to make its way to other markets in the near future, the new Champagne edition OnePlus X features a white and gold outer casing.
The phone will be sold on a first come, first serve basis every Tuesday through the company’s e-commerce store, though those with a OnePlus X purchase invite can buy it at any time. OnePlus hasn’t said if the phone will cost more than its standard sibling.
Carl Pei, one of the co-founders of OnePlus, also announced a new documentary on the company’s forum. Titled The Untold OnePlus Story, the feature is set to be released early next year.
In the teaser for the documentary, the camera, positioned behind OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei, pans in slowly on him while a thunderstorm brews in the distance. In a voiceover, Pei drops the f-bomb while talking about the early history of OnePlus.
It’s all very dramatic.
