Samsung will give a ‘sneak preview of the newest Tizen devices’ at MWC

Samsung confirmed earlier this week that devices running its Tizen OS have been delayed, noting they “had planned to release in the first half of this year in several countries, including Korea and Russia.” Delayed doesn’t mean they can’t show off its progress and that’s exactly what Samsung is doing next month at Mobile World Congress.

Invitations have been sent out for an event on Sunday, February 23rd that attendees “will get an exclusive sneak preview of the newest Tizen devices as well as an opportunity to learn about the major milestones that the Tizen project has hit since last year’s event.”

The release of Tizen, an open source Linux-based OS, was originally targeted for mid-2013, so it’ll be interesting to see how Samsung the entire “Tizen Association Board” have progress and what its key differentiators are.
