There’s a little more cheer in the air for Moto X and Moto G owners today. Motorola has issued a new app to the Play Store, staidly-named Motorola Boot Services, which updates the devices’ boot animation to one a bit more festive.
Like the intriguing Windy Day game that magically appeared on Moto X devices over the past few weeks, the new boot animation is another example of Motorola’s commitment to delighting its customers throughout its products’ life cycles. Moto X is approaching five months old, but is still one of the most talked-about smartphones on the market (even if it hasn’t sold as well as Google would have liked).
According to Android Central, the animation will return to normal on January 6th, so enjoy it while it lasts. Or don’t. Either way, it won’t be around for long.
Update: Looks like the Moto X version only works on Android 4.4 and above. Rogers users, you’ll have to wait for that KitKat update before getting this treat, sorry.
