Bell extends broadcast agreement with the NFL, additional live coverage coming to Mobile TV

Bell has extended its broadcast agreement with the NFL into the 2014/2015 season, bringing more NFL games to Bell’s TV channels, including CTV, TSN and their Mobile TV app on smartphones and tablets. There was no word on the financial terms, but Bell now has the rights to a full day of Sunday NFL games, plus all playoff games and the Super Bowl.

Bell states that “TSN will continue to be Canada’s source for NFL news and information, led by Sportscentre.” Bell, namely its TSN channel, recently lost the NHL rights to Rogers in a $5.2 billion deal and this addition will certainly fill some needed airtime.

“Since partnering with Bell Media we have seen a strong lift in our viewership in Canada,” said Julie Moeller, Vice President of International Media Business Development, NFL. “Starting in 2014, Bell Media will offer live NFL football all day on Sundays across their networks and digital offerings, providing a dynamic viewing experience for the fans.”
