HTC One Developer Edition Now Available For Pre-Order, Call In Those Amerifriend Favours

The HTC One Developer Edition is available for pre-order today for a tidy sum of $649+shipping. While that may be a high number to the average smartphone buyer, you’re getting quite a lot for your money. The HTC One DE comes with both an unlocked bootloader and SIM tray, so you can use it on any carrier and install custom ROMs without fear of warranty reprisal. More importantly, along with its impeccable build quality, quad-core processor and 1080p screen, the Developer Edition comes with 64GB of internal storage, which will likely make up for the device’s lack of expandable memory.

Unfortunately, the handset is only available to American at the moment and must be purchased with a valid U.S. credit card. If you’re inclined to pick up one of these bad boys, it’s time to phone in a few favours.

The device is compatible with Rogers, Bell, TELUS, Koodo, Fido and Virgin in Canada on both 3G and LTE, so you won’t have to worry about carrier compatibility.

Head to HTC for all the details. The phone ships on April 18th, so you have some time to get your affairs in order.
