Android loomed over everything at this week’s Mobile World Congress, but no larger was its presence felt than in Google’s home booth. From Android swag to demo stations to a design wall, it seems that Google had its hands everywhere in promoting Android.
And, for each day, Google put together a few minutes worth of video, rounding up the most interesting portions. Rotating between testimonials by app developers to Google employees to regular conference attendees just enjoying themselves, the videos shed light on some innovations to Ice Cream Sandwich and Android as a whole. Google is emphasizing the Android media ecosystem, with its music, movie and book hubs as well as the 450,000 apps available in the Marketplace. Unfortunately Canadians don’t have access to the music services just yet, but we can rent movies and purchase books and watch/read them on any Google-connected device, anywhere.
The other innovation viewed at length is the NFC-powered Android Beam, which is available on ICS-powered devices. Developers such as Wyse and Glympse are integrating Beam into their apps using the open API to great success.
Check out the three videos after the break.
