We’re live from an LG event where there are two new devices being showcased: Optimus 2X and the Optimus Pad. These are both Android-powered devices and the LG Optimus Pad is heading towards Rogers and the 2x is still being decided on which carrier will actually release it.
The LG Optimus 2X is a thing of beauty and was recently given “the first mobile phone to use a dual core processor” by Guinness World Records and has a 1Ghz Dual-core Processor, 4-inch WVGA display (480 x 800) that’s made of Gorilla Glass, 8 megapixel with a 1.3 megapixel front camera that records 1080p HD videos. This device is super thin at 123.9 x 63.2 x 10.9 mm and weighs 139 grams. No word yet on a release date or price points.
As for the Android 3.0 Optimus Pad, this is going to be available next week at Rogers (May 17th) for various price points between $699.99 outright to a 3-year contract price for $449.99. The Pad has an 8.9-inch touchscreen display, dual-core 1GHz processor and two 5 megapixel cameras that records 2D & 3D videos.
We’ll have video of both Android devices up shortly.
