I saw people use Apple Pay at T&T supermarket the other day.

thats awesome. I’ll be doing that from now on. Not that taking out my wallet is an issue, but my phones in my hand, and plus, i dont like people seeing my card.

I’d be more enthusiastic about mobile payment if tap-and-pay didn’t already exist. I tried using RBC Wallet a few times but went back to tapping with my credit card (found it to be more convenient and reliable).

Apps were a temporary half measure and you’re right, they were much worse than just tapping your card. That’s why adoption of NFC payments was almost nil (ignoring the few bright bulbs that claimed it was awesome and worth using at all).

I think you’ll appreciate Android Pay or Samsung Pay. Having it built into the platform really does make it as convenient as tapping a card but much more secure.

  • I use Apple Pay and it is nice. This whole digital payments thing is great for government because you can’t really get any deals with it. We have all see the places that offer cash deals, that is likely going out the window in the future. I just hope by then we don’t pay out the nose for taxes and still have the same crappy transit and roads that we do now.

That’s almost a guarantee no matter who is in office. The “mismanagement” of our money is something you can set your watch to.

    • Hey. it isn’t mismanagement if we treat our politicians to fine dining and private getaways with our taxes. That’s just politics.

I thought people only used blackberry’s in Canada?

I really like Apple pay honestly. Few times i went to McD’s without my wallet, xD. Also, i like the notifications i get from Apple Pay. My card i use for subscription is my Amex, so i ALWAYS know when it gets charged, plus, its a nice reminder of, “do i still need to subscribe to that…”. Lastly, i bank account’s notification system sucks. TD Myspend app does NOT notify you of ALL transactions. It will notify you about everything, except charges or donations made by your account BY TD. So, my monthly charges will not be notified by TD Myspend app. useless.

I just picked up an iPhone 7 after years of being Android only, and one of the first things I did was try Apple Pay. It’s… cute. It’s novel the first time I tried it, but not really any different than using a tap and pay debit card.
