The latest beta version of WhatsApp’s Android app (version 2.12.159 or 2.12.161) brings some much needed diversity with a number of new skin tone options for almost each and every emoji. Perhaps more importantly, this version of WhatsApp also adds the Vulcan Salute emoji (R.I.P, Leonard Nimoy).
Facebook-owned WhatsApp has over 800 million active monthly users, up 100 million since January, and continues to rollout the updates on its app. Recently, Windows Phone and iOS users were graced with voice calling and Android users received a Material Design overhaul.
