Last week Microsoft sent out press invites with Surface branding teasing a “small gathering,” leading some to speculate the company could announce a Surface Mini tablet on May 20th. This week, a slip up from Microsoft’s customer support team gives evidence that the Surface Pro 3 could be unveiled as well.

As you can see from the image above, the Microsoft support article for H264 recording in Windows 8.1 or Windows Server 2012 R2 gives mention to a “Surface Pro 3 camera.” Now this could be a simple typographical error, but Microsoft’s support team has a history of being ahead of the game, so we’ll file this under highly plausible.

Let us know if you’re more interested in an update to the Surface Pro line, or if you’re more enticed by the prospect of a Surface Mini.

I’d be more interested in a Surface Pro with a 13″ screen for laptop-style use.

    • Marc Palumbo

this is a small demand according to the population. But for a future product, they may consider a tablet hybrid.

The pro 2 was released in October, so 8 months ago. That’s about the life of a new product in this industry. And lets be kidding, this wasn’t really a “slip”, we all knew a new surface was coming out.

  • Don Sod

I thought I would be ok too, but have discovered too many limitations. Only going full Windows from now on.

  • Igor Magun

I’ve been eyeing the Surface Pro 2 for a while now, but I may have to hold off for the Pro 3 if this is the case. Looking forward to the reveal!
