Bell, along with Virgin, have publicly declared that their LTE network reaches about 70% of the Canadian population, which is about 24 million people. Since going live they’ve continually expanded and it seems that they’ll be bringing LTE speeds to many more people. According to their coverage map they have an aggressive schedule to rollout LTE in many more Canadians cities – mostly in Eastern Canada, but also coming soon to Saskatchewan and parts of Alberta. It’s worth a quick look to see if LTE will be coming to your area.

I have Virgin and LTE is great. However, I’ve been traveling across Canada and Virgin/Bell has horrible nationwide service. It is rare that I have coverage on the Trans-Canada highway. For the amount we pay for usage, our one main highway should be covered by all carriers.
