Solo to launch first HSPA device on November 11th, the LG Flick

Looks like the LG Flick is making the rounds this holiday season. This entry level device is launching on Virgin on November 11th and will also hit Solo Mobile the same day. Price points on Solo is $149.99 no-contract (Virgin is $0.00 on the SuperTab/contract). The good news for Solo is that this touchscreen device will be their first HSPA device and will have the capability to surf the web (9 social networking sites have been integrated into the device), check e-mail, FM radio and this comes with a 2 megapixel camera with video capabilities. In addition, the Flick will be available in both grey and pink.

(Thanks tipster!)

  1. Don’t forget to mention that Solo HSPA network and devices are not compatible with Solo Unlimited (IE: WIND-Copycat) plans.

Just another way BELL refuses to compete with WIND and restricts the latest technology to their overpriced plans. :)

  2. Solo and Chatr were built(or in Solo’s case, revamped) to insult the intelligence of people who are looking to switch to Wind or Mobilicity, but are nervous about dealing with a new network with, admittedly, some bugs that need to be worked out. Basically they’re saying…”Hey, forget those new guys, we have similar plans! And a proven network! Whats that? You need Data? *sigh* you would like a 3G Phone? hmmm..unfortunately we don’t have that YET, however [insert Rogers or Bell] has some ‘fair’ plans that are very ‘reasonable’ if you sign a ‘short’ 3 year service agreement!”

  4. I have yet to try this phone. I am looking for a basic phone, with some perks like a speedy browser etc. It’s hard to find that in basic phones. So, it’s on route for delivery and we’ll give it a try today….Mine is on the Virgin Mobile network though….would’t do Solo if my life depended on it!!!!
