Video: BlackBerry 9700 vs. BlackBerry 9800 browser comparison

The BlackBerry Torch 9800 was officially released today in the States, but will be coming to Canada “in the coming weeks”. One of the main features of the new BlackBerry 6 OS is the WebKit browser. Adam over at CrackBerry.com did a good review of the old browsing experience that we’re used to on the Bold 9700 to the new WebKit browser experience on the Torch 9800. Rendering sites is a big shift but the most impressive change is the speed.  Check it out after the break

  3. Certainly faster, wasn’t too impressed with the need to sometimes use the mouse rather than the touchscreen (in the Google Reader demo tapping didn’t seem to work) for certain operations.

Still not too sure about the 9800, it’s “better” but is this really the best RIM can come up with against iPhone, Android, etc?

  4. Browsing speed is probably different due to the fact your using wifi on the 9800 and 3G network on the 9700.

  6. I just worry about the 9700 having enough memory and a fast enough processor for the BB6 I still have flashbacks of Vista coming out and the guy at best buy assuring me that 1gb of ram was way more than enough for it….lol
