Not sure if this is a listening to the customer or just a sign of the times. People are spending less these days and I guess Speak Out wants to join the party by “listening” to their customers needs.
They created a $15 Airtime card that, as they put it, “Not every SpeakOut customer wants to buy more minutes up front and have a full year to use them. Some customers would rather spend small and talk fast”. So their new $15 card gives you 60 mintes ($0.25 per minute) and expires in 30 days.

It’s just a cleverly marketed way for them to make more money, just do the math. You could spend $100 which lasts an entire year, or spend $15 a month (since it expires each month) for a year and end up spending $180.
My guess is they want people to see “Oooh! Only $15!” without realizing the expiry date, because I can’t see this being a better deal for anyone. Spend $10 more and you have $25 credit to use over the entire year.

This is just their way to test the waters to shorten the expiry dates. Who would rather have to get an airtime card each and every month, than once a year? This is bogus.
