Apple patents “Touch Screen Device, Method, and Graphical User Interface for Providing Maps, Directions, and Location-Based Information”

apple-iphone-navigation-mapping-app-patentMajority of Apple iPhone 3G users have used Google Maps for their preferred GPS/navigation app… it seems that Apple is now stepping up and creating one for themselves.

An  application submitted to the World Intellectual Property Organization shows Apple looking to own versus have Google do it for them. The patent is named “Touch Screen Device, Method, and Graphical User Interface for Providing Maps, Directions, and Location-Based Information”.
