Google is rolling out 4K support for the Xbox One S and X’s YouTube app.
Only Xbox One S and Xbox One X devices will support the update since both consoles are 4K video playback compatible. It’s also important to note that taking advantage of the update also requires a 4K TV. There’s currently no HDR support within the Xbox One S and X’s YouTube app.
As previously mentioned, the update is rolling out now, however, if waiting isn’t your style you can download it early here.
The Xbox One X and S also features 4K video support through Netflix’s app, physical 4K Blu-rays. Only the Xbox One X is capable of 4K video games, with notable examples being Assassin’s Creed Origins, Middle Earth Shadow of War and Gears of War 4.
