You guessed it: Fido also doubles minutes and data in newest promo

fido-signage
In a push to increase Q1 subscriber numbers carriers have come out with several new promos. Last week Koodo Mobile doubled up the minutes and data in their plans. As expected, rival sub-brand Fido has come forward and done the same. Slightly different pricing, but the same theme of doubling down on minutes and data on their “Smart Plans.” The basic $40/month plan jumps to 300 minutes and 400MB data, then the $50/month plan sees the minutes increase to 500 with 1GB data. The top of the heap $60/month plan gives Unlimited minutes and 2GB data.

Check them out here at Fido
(Thanks to everyone who sent this in!)

COPYCAT !!! Why do you always have to match? Give even more discount or more data/minutes.

    competition is great :)

50 bucks for a gig of data is decent – especially when you compare to Rogers and Telus’ 70 dollar plans that don’t include canada wide calling.

Bell has a $60 plan with unlimited nation wide, text, caller id, message center, and 5gb, in Winnipeg anyways.

these plans suck dick we need better plans

I’m glad I left Fido this week for Koodo’s promo:
$45 for 400 mins + 1GB, minus 10% due to owning my own phone.

In other news, no deals to be found.

It only takes one promo for the others to follow, but still prices keep way up its just monopolyzed here in canada, the same will happen once one of the big3 steps for max two year contract, until then WIND or even KOODO will be top pick for regular canadian

Meh, I switched to Koodo’s $30 150 minutes and 200MB deal yesterday, and I’m saving an additional 10% for owning my phone.

This is no competition, competition isn’t just matching the deals but beating them.
