No Man’s Sky will fly onto iPhones and iPads on Oct. 28, developer Hello Games has announced.
In a blog post, the studio outlined the new ports, which come just over 10 years after the space exploration game debuted on PS4 and PC. Impressively, No Man’s Sky will work on iPhone 11 and 3rd-generation iPad Air and above, albeit with some limitations.
In particular, multiplayer isn’t available on Apple devices, while Planetary Settlements, which are alien towns that the player can build and manage, are only supported on iPhone 15 Pro and above.
Still, it’s commendable that so much of this vast and ever-expanding game is playable on Apple’s mobile devices. In addition to having streamlined touch controls, Hello Games says it will offer support for controllers, TV casting and even mouse and keyboard on iPad.
The game will also be free to try at launch and come in at under 4GB.
The No Man’s Sky Apple ports come as Hello Games toils away at its next game, Light No Fire. The open-world adventure MMO is currently in development for PC, although no release window has been confirmed.
