CFL debuts digital makeover, revamped app with built-in fantasy football

CFL is celebrating the new app with a contest that could land you at the 113th Grey Cup

All-new CFL App

The Canadian Football League (CFL) and its nine member teams recently launched an all-new digital ecosystem, including a completely redesigned website and app, so let’s take a look.

The redesigned app, which launched earlier this month, now includes real-time scores, breaking news, highlights, exclusive content, and built-in fantasy sports.

The app is built on a framework from TheScore Bet, which allows fantasy football leagues to be implemented directly in the app, alongside CFL GameZone, which offers interactive games like the CFL Team Picker, CFL PickEm, 2026 All-CFL, CFL Fan Of The Year, among others. Crucially, the new CFL app doesn’t offer betting; it just used TheScore Bet to help redo the app.

“As presenting partner, theScore Bet is proud to support the new CFL app,” said Justin Hergianto, Vice-President, Marketing, PENN Interactive. “It’s an exciting step forward for the league and how fans can follow the sport.”

“The new CFL app puts the league, our teams and our players at fans’ fingertips, making it easier than ever to discover, follow and engage with Canadian football. Today’s launch represents a major step forward for our league,” said CFL Commissioner Stewart Johnston.

The revamped website includes CFL ID (the new login credentials that can be used and personalized across platforms), new quick-to-deliver mobile-inspired content such as Snapshot moments, new statistics pages, extensive pre-game coverage, and more commercial opportunities for advertisers.

Alongside the new app launch, the CFL is also debuting a new contest known as the App to End Zone contest. Participants could win a VIP end zone experience at the 113th Grey Cup in Calgary.

Running until October 24, all users just need to download the official CFL app, navigate to the “end zone” (or simply the iOS’ dock/Android’s favourites tray), and take a screenshot showing the app in the “end zone.”

From there, share the screenshot in the CFL’s designated submission posts on its Facebook, X, and TikTok pages, or on the submission page on the CFL website.

The new CFL app is available on both the App Store and the Google Play Store
