In Canada, we don’t have as many options for foldables as in Asia or Europe; however, as the years go by, we’re seeing more and more. Last year, we crowned the Pixel 9 Pro Fold as the best foldable in the country, but this year, the crown goes to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7.
The handset features a large 8-inch display with a 1968 x 2184-pixel resolution with a 120Hz refresh rate. And on the outside, the device sports a 6.5-inch screen. In previous years, the Z Fold series had a slim Cover Screen, making it difficult to use for long periods of time. The device was an overrated tablet. However, by increasing the aspect ratio with the Galaxy Z Fold 7, the Z Fold 7’s screen is very serviceable, which means you only need to open the larger screen when you need that tablet experience – the perfect hybrid.
Not only that, the handset is incredibly thin, even among foldables globally. When unfolded, it’s 4.2mm thin, and when folded, it’s 8.9mm. The fact that your phone, when folded, is just as thick as an iPhone or other flagships, and unfolds to an incredibly thin 8-inch screen, alongside a 200-megapixel primary camera for selfies and a Snapdragon 8 Elite for gaming, Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 wins MobileSyrup’s Best Foldable of 2025.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 costs $2,499.99; however, is on sale for $2,199.99 until January 1.
