Canadian wireless providers change plans fairly often, which can make it tough to stay in the loop about the best offers and deals on the market.
Thankfully, we here at MobileSyrup keep a close eye on things so we can keep you informed about what’s changing. So, here are the latest wireless changes from Oct. 7 and 8, 2026.
Virgin Plus – $5 price hike on some plans

Virgin Plus plans as of Oct. 8, 2026.
Bell’s flanker brand made a couple of changes to its plans on Oct. 7, which raised prices slightly.
First, Virgin dropped its $45/20GB plan, leaving customers with a choice between the $50/60GB plan and $55/60GB CAN/US/MEX plan.
Along with that, Virgin increased the cost of its talk and text plan from $25/mo to $30/mo. Notably, the above prices all include a $10/autopay credit.
Lucky Mobile drops cheapest plan option
Another Bell flanker, Lucky Mobile, made a small change and ditched its cheapest plan option, the $19/500MB plan. Now, the lowest-cost plan available is $21/mo with 1GB of data (500MB + 500MB with autopay).
Public Mobile – CAN/US/MEX plans with less data

Public Mobile plans as of Oct. 8, 2026.
This Telus flanker brand made several changes to its plan lineup, mostly related to the end of its back-to-school deals. Still, we saw the following changes:
- Removed $35/25GB 5G CAN/US/MEX
- $40/70GB 5G CAN/US/MEX (previously $40/75GB)
- $45/100GB 5G CAN/US/MEX (previously $45/125GB)
- $50/150GB 5G CAN/US/MEX (previously $50/175GB)
Public’s Canada-wide plans remain unchanged.
