Video Game Live Expo (VGLX) is coming back.
After a successful inaugural show last year, the gaming convention will once again be held in Mississauga — this time from Oct. 24-25 at the International Centre. Organized by XP Gaming (the XP Game Summit business conferences), VGLX brings together all sorts of gaming programming, including playable demos, vendors, cosplays, guests and more. (If the name sounds familiar, that’s because there was an unaffiliated gaming expo called EGLX that ran pre-COVID but has since gone away.)
Some of the VGLX 2026 highlights include:
-
- Behaviour Interactive — Canada’s largest independent game developer will have an activation celebrating 10 years of its popular Dead by Daylight game, as well as demos for smaller indies that it publishes, including Terrible Lizards, Don’t Fret and It Has My Face
- Electric Clash tournament (an official Challenger Event for the Tekken World Tour 2026 featuring international competitors from around the world)
- Gaming guests — Canadian actors Craig Burnatowski (Wesker and Zeno in the modern Resident Evil games), Jon McLaren (Star-Lord in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy) and Damon Papadopoulos (Markos from Assassin’s Creed Odyssey) will be in attendance
- Indie game zone — featuring various playable indie games
- Toronto KOI 2026-2027 esports roster reveal from OverActive Media
While Canada is one of the biggest producers of games in the world, we don’t have many consumer gaming events, and certainly nothing remotely in the vein of PAX in the U.S., Gamescom in Europe or Tokyo Game Show in Japan. Meanwhile, our biggest pop-culture convention, Fan Expo Canada, typically has little in the way of gaming programming. Therefore, it’s good to see XP Gaming trying to build something with VGLX.
Tickets start at $20 and are available on the official VGLX website. You can also use our community discount code MOBILESYRUPVGLX26 to get 15 per cent off.
