During the Power On podcast, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman revealed details about three new Apple products coming out next week.
According to Gurman, Apple will hold an “online home event” on Tuesday, October 13. The company will introduce a new smart home hub, a new HomePod Mini and a new Apple TV 4K, all featuring Siri AI.
An “online home event” isn’t a very good description of Apple’s plans, though. It’s possible Apple will have a prepackaged video, a live-streamed event or just a series of press releases with videos about each of the individual products.
Details about some of these products have been leaked over the past several weeks. The new Apple TV 4K, for instance, will have an upgraded A17 Pro chip or newer, 8GB of RAM, Apple Intelligence and Siri AI support. It’ll also have a revised Siri Remote, an Apple-designed N1 chip and Wi-Fi 7 support.
And the Apple Home Hub, on the other hand, is reported to sport a 6-inch display and look like the iMac G4, with a similar half-dome-shaped base and a metal arm holding up the screen.
It reportedly has a standard gray aluminum finish with a rubberized bottom, a USB-C port for power, and a polished metal arm. Users are able to tilt the display forward or backward; it’ll also have a single front-facing camera for FaceTime and no volume or power buttons. Another report suggests that there’s also a version of the home hub that’s meant to be wall-mounted, with a thin, square-shaped base that sits flat on the wall below the display.
If Apple is planning to launch devices next week, MobileSyrup will be there to cover the details on the new releases and have Canadian pricing.
