74% of Android devices in Canada are running OS 2.1 or higher… but the latest reports from Google’s Android developer distribution stats shows us Canadians trailing a bit behind the global number of 83% (it was 77% a month ago). The good news is that more devices are being released with OS 2.2 and carriers and manufactures have committed to have an upgrade path for certain devices. Android phones that were first launched years ago are slowly dropping in percentage. 6.3% for Android OS 1.5 and 10.6% for Android OS 1.6.
Looking forward to seeing Android OS 2.3 (Gingerbread) on the charts soon!
