MTS makes deal with Sprint to bring on “a broader range of devices”… possibly the Palm Pre?

palmpreimageMTS has struck a deal with Sprint Nextel’s Global Alliance program to bring their 438,300 customers “a broader range of devices”, possibly even the recently launched Palm Pre.

MTS will now have access to bring on Sprint’s handset lineups and take advantage of their buying when it comes to negotiating enhanced handsets (possibly the Palm Pre). They will also be able to gain insight into Sprint’s technology, product development and planning which can be used to help grow its business in Manitoba. Sounds like a solid deal for MTS… no word was given on how much the agreement was for or the duration.

Kelvin Shepherd, President Consumer Markets division, MTS Allstream said “We are very excited to move forward in this new relationship with Sprint, a premier wireless carrier noted for its innovative approach to the wireless marketplace. MTS Allstream is the leading wireless provider in Manitoba. We already feature Manitoba’s widest wireless network, and our relationship with Sprint will help us bring more of the newest handsets and wireless devices to our customers and the Manitoba market.”

    1. I would consider moving to MTS but only if they offered the Palm Pre at competitive rates.
