Nokia N97 coming to Canada in June?

It was only last week that I wrote about the Nokia N97 and how you’ll possibly be able to get this unlocked for $834.99 on June 5th. However, Nokia made an announcement yesterday that they plan to release the “highly anticipated Nokia N97, Nokia’s flagship mobile computer, will begin selling in June in more than 75 countries.”

Although a list was not given, with the N97 being launched in 75 countries there is a great chance we’ll see this available in Canada through Rogers Wireless. We are still waiting on official confirmation if this will be coming to us with the worldwide launch, and there is no word on official price plans yet. We’ll follow up shortly.

The N97 has a 3.5 inch touchscreen (resolution of 640 x 360 pixels) with a full slide out QWERTY keyboard (tilting screen when open). Overall dimensions are 4.61 x 2.18 x 0.63 inches and weights 150 grams. The most stellar part of the N97 is that it can hold up to 32GB of memory, 3G and WiFi, a 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and a dual LED flash. This will be available in Black and White.

Here is a cool video that takes us inside the factory where the N97 is being assembled. Nokia says “you can follow Carita’s progress as she follows the Nokia N97 from the assembly table, through packaging, to crating, inspection, batch testing, and onto pallets on the truck. We think this is probably the first time Nokia has shown any device being manufactured in its factory”.
