The Galaxy Z Fold 8 has been more popular than Samsung thought

The smartphone giant has already ordered a million more

A report now suggests that the recent demand for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 has prompted Samsung to increase production of the foldable.

According to South Korean publication ETNewsthe smartphone giant is building an additional one million units of the device following its initial success. So far, Samsung is said to have initially produced 2.8 million units of the foldable, with the possibility of even more being made if demand continues.

As Android Authority noted, while these figures should make Samsung a bit more confident in the device, it is still really early for the device, and the real test will be whenever the rumoured Apple foldable iPhone is released — that is, if it comes out in the near future, anyway.

The Z Fold 8 has been in our headlines a fair bit recently, as Canadian prices for the device have been announced. Alongside this, it was discovered that some Z Fold 8 screens’ creases have been looking worse over time; however, the actual crease hasn’t been any more noticeable.
