Samsung disses iPhone Duo with ads across Canada

Samsung likes to poke fun at Apple, but the company is going in pretty hard this time.

We’ve talked about the new ‘crackgate,’ as iPhone Duos have started cracking in the same place due to an issue with the hinge.

Well, Samsung is having fun with the whole incident by posting pictures, TikToks and now even billboards insulting the Cupertino tech giant — I even got a text message about it.

Samsung now has a mobile billboard in Toronto and Vancouver today, showing the cracked display and saying “switch to Galaxy Z Fold 8.”

The company is also pushing the fact that they’ve released eight generations of Galaxy Z Fold devices, so they have more experience than Apple. This isn’t entirely incorrect, as Samsung has been releasing these foldabes since 2019.

The South Korean tech maker typically releases multiple folding phones per year by releasing both Z Fold and Z Flip series devices. Last year, Samsung even released a TriFold as well.

It’s worth mentioning that I’ve had my iPhone Duo for two weeks now, and the display is still fine. While there are many reports of the iPhone Duo cracking, Apple has said the issue only affects a “small number” of units.

While I’m still working on a full review for the iPhone Duo, I’ve been comparing both the Z Fold 8 and the iPhone Duo a lot, and both have some pros and cons. I’ll have a feature that more closely compares the two in the coming weeks.
