If you’re planning to play Grand Theft Auto VI, you’ll want to free up space on your console’s storage — the game is massive.
Rockstar confirmed in a blog post that GTA VI‘s pre-load begins on Nov. 10. Those who preload the game will need as much as 212GB of space, depending on the console.
“Digital pre-loading on PlayStation 5 will begin on Tuesday, November 10 at midnight local time in your respective time zone. On XBOX Series X|S, pre-loading begins globally on Tuesday, November 10 at 12 a.m. GMT. Code-in-box versions for both consoles should be available from retailers beginning November 12.”
Along with the above information, Rockstar shared a link to a support page with additional details and instructions for preloading GTA VI on Xbox and PlayStation consoles.
That insane amount of storage would make GTA VI one of the largest games by file size out there. It’s more than most modern Call of Duty games and God of War Ragnarok, which both eat nearly 200GB of storage. It’s also competitive with the highly detailed flight simulator DCS World, which starts at 200GB and can climb much higher if you install the 150+ DLCs available.
Safe to say, if you’re planning to play this game, you’ll want to clear out some storage space. Or if you’ve got a few hundred dollars burning a hole in your pocket, maybe buy an extra drive for your console.
