The Z Fold 8’s crease looks worse, and it’s only two weeks old

As if foldable phones couldn't have any more screen concerns

Those worries about foldable screens creasing aren’t going away anytime soon, as an X leaker has pointed out that the crease on the Z Fold 8 is getting much worse, faster than one of its competitors.

Essentially, well-known tipster sondesix pointed out on X that the Z Fold 8 Ultra’s crease is becoming significantly more noticeable than that of its competitor, the OPPO Find N6.

Now looking at the image of the Z Fold 8, it is definitely more pronounced than the Find N6, although ti would be a little bit odd that it would become so pronounced after only a short period of time, right?

Well, after testing both phones for a few days, Android Authority‘s Paul Jones noted that Samsung’s crease is more noticeable on the Z Fold 8 than on the OPPO Find N6.

“Yeah, it’s gotten worse,” Jones said while also stressing that this happens on every phone. “It’s just a little bit more noticeable than the one on the N6.” Now, Jones has added that both creases felt exactly the same.

To sum it up, is it alarming that this issue still hasn’t been solved in the near-decade that foldable smartphones have been on the market? Yes, but this could also be down to the screen Samsung is using that’s showing off a bit more of the underlying crease. By the looks of the photo, the screen material does look a tad different.

All things aside, this hasn’t been a huge concern before, and testimonies from Android Police‘s Mark Jansen about the crease not really being noticeable on his Galaxy Z Fold 5 are a pretty good sign.
