YouTube is now available through Shaw’s BlueSky TV

Subscribers can now watch content without needing to change inputs or remotes

Shaw has integrated the YouTube and YouTube Kids applications into its BlueSky TV platform.

BlueSky TV is Shaw’s Comcast XI-based IPTV platform, launched in January 2017 to compete with Telus’ Optik TV in the Western provinces.

The integration of YouTube means BlueSkyTV subscribers can now watch content on the platform without needing to change inputs or remotes. Subscribers can also use Shaw BlueSky TV’s voice-powered remote functionality to search for specific YouTube content by using commands like “YouTube, show me CFL highlights.”

BlueSky TV integrated Netflix in September 2017. Requiring both a TV and internet subscription, the platform aggregates Netflix, YouTube, live channels, on-demand content and PVR recording all in one place.

Telus offers YouTube through channel 322 for Optik subscribers with 4K digital boxes.
