A recently released Pebble firmware update brings improved health tracking and messaging functionality to the company’s line of devices.
Pebble Health, the smartwatch’s seamless step and sleep tracker that launched last month, has received a number of improvements in this update. The most notable addition is that Pebble watchface and app creators now have access to the company’s proprietary health API, allowing developers to build apps that take advantage of Pebble Health’s tracking features.
Another tweak that’s likely a welcome addition for Canadians, is Pebble Health distance can now be display distance in kilometres. Pebble says various improvements have also been made to Pebble’s tracking capabilities. A new battery saver mode has been added to the smartwatch as well.
On the iOS side of things, Pebble users can now send pre-created custom responses to messages, functionality Android users have had access to for a number of months now.
Pebble owners can download the latest version of the smartwatch’s operating system right now for both iOS and Android.
