As it has for the past five years, Bell’s annual Let’s Talk Day is raising money for mental health awareness, attempting to help Canadians better understand and normalize the conversation about mental wellness and its treatment.
Today, every call or text made by Bell customers, as well as any Tweet with #BellLetsTalk or Facebook share with the Bell Let’s Talk image will accrue a five cent donation by BCE. In years past, Rogers and Telus have done the right thing, too, donating the equivalent of five cents for every call or text message sent by its own customers.
Bell is working with a number of celebrities on the campaign, including multiple Olympic medalist Clara Hughes; comedians Howie Mandel and Mary Walsh; singer Serena Ryder; and TSN host Michael Landsberg.
Last year, Bell donated $6.1 million to support mental health programs across Canada.
