Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet officially unveiled

Sony doesn’t want Apple and Samsung to own the tablet space and has relentlessly come back to officially announce the Xperia Z4 Tablet. This was teased online late last week, has a 10.1-inch IPS display (2560 x 1600 resolution, 300ppi) and promises to offer the “best viewing experience you will hold in your hand.”

The Xperia Z4 Tablet replaces the Z2 Tablet and takes on other competing tablets in its space, such as the iPad Air 2. The Xperia Z4 Tablet is only 6.1mm thick and also weighs in at 389 grams, or 393 grams for the LTE model. Powering this Android 5.0 tablet is the new 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB expandable memory, and also an improved 6000mAh battery that reportedly gives “17 hours video playback.”

One of its main attractions, apart from its size, is once again the fact that it is waterproof and “dust-tight” thanks to an IP 65/68 certification. The Xperia Z4 Tablet will launch globally in June but there’s no indication if Canada made the cut. Price points were not made available.
