Videotron increases the number of jobs, prepares for HSPA launch

Last October Videotron said they will create 1,000 jobs by the end of 2010 to assist them with building out their new HSPA network (targeted for a Summer of 2010 launch). Today they have announced plans to hire even more and bring the total to more than 1,200 jobs. The positions are all permanent full-time jobs band will be primarily be for Engineering, Customer service, Technical support, Network Construction and Maintenance, Sales and IT.

Robert Depatie, President and Chief Executive Officer of Videotron said “For more than six years, Videotron has been posting sustained business growth, which has translated into hundreds of new jobs per year. The size of our workforce has almost doubled to 4,600 as of December 31, 2009. We are very proud of the contribution we are making to Quebec’s economic development by investing in the local labour force.”
