All the mobile advertising networks are slowly being acquired. First it was Google that took over AdsMob, then Apple bought Quattro Wireless… today Opera has officially acquired mobile AdMarvel for an undisclosed amount of money.
Every month sees over 50 million people use their browser… which means lots of potential advertising revenue. Opera said this purchase “will enable Opera to expand its portfolio of products and services to include highly scalable ad monetization services for Opera branded mobile products and services offered by mobile operators and content partners.”
Lars Boilesen, CEO of Opera Software said “In our fast-growing industry, mobile advertising represents an interesting long-term revenue opportunity. Every month, nearly 50 million people access the Web using Opera on their mobile phones and together with AdMarvel, we think we can play an important role in the evolution of mobile advertising”.
