Canada’s favourite domestic storm tracker, The Weather Network, has updated its Android app with a new design and better support for tablets.
The redesign is the first in a number of years for the app on either iOS or Android, and implements a number of features users have been easily able to find elsewhere. The Canada-focused database now offers a 14-day forecast, along with a sidebar for easy navigation around the app.
Better news and video support is also included, as well as a multi-layer map that allows users to layer precipitation, cloud coverage and even traffic on a local area.
The app, while not exactly Material or even Holo-inspired, looks nicer on higher-resolution displays, and runs well on newer devices like the Nexus 6.
