Telus to start charging for incoming text messages

Seems like Telus doesn’t want to miss the incoming text bandwagon. Starting August 24, 2008 new and existing customers will be charged 15¢ for incoming texts.  3 messaging bundles are available to add to your account: Messaging 250 ($5/month - 250 outgoing text/picture/video messages, unlimited incoming text/picture/video messages).  Messaging 2500 ($10/month - 2500 outgoing text/picture/video messages, unlimited incoming text/picture/video messages). Messaging Unlimited ($15/month - unlimited outgoing text/picture/video messages, unlimited incoming text/picture/video messages)

One comment for “Telus to start charging for incoming text messages”

    1. I just emailed Telus from my Mobility account and asked them to remove any and all text message features.

I don’t text - but I RECEIVE reminder and promotional texts from Telus, as well as the odd piece of spam.

I have a contract, but am not taking a chance that I will have to pay for those unneeded messages.
