Texas Instruments has been steadily developing the mobile projector, or Pico-Projector as they are formally called.

With the goal to have a better viewing experience on your mobile devices – weather it’s sharing photos, watching movies, or giving presentations – this is an up and coming industry that Texas Instruments believes will rival the popular built-in camera phone.

John Van Scoter, company senior vice president and general manager of DLP Products said that some mobile manufacturers are currently in development and will be available by the end of 2008. Van Scoter also estimates that TI will have about 50% market share in the global projector market with approximately six million units by the end of Q4 this year.
