Samsung might have a Star Wars-themed Galaxy Note 8 on the way.
The rumour comes courtesy of Weibo tipster Ice Universe, who posted a BB-8-themed Note 8 for the release of the Bixby AI assistant in China.
It’s possible Samsung will offer special edition hardware — as it did with the Injustice Edition of the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge, for instance — but it seems more likely the company will release a smartphone that features a Star Wars software theme that includes special wallpapers, icons and perhaps notification sounds.
Regardless of whether its software or hardware-based, it’s likely the Note 8’s Star Wars makeover will be available near the theatrical release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi on December 15th.
As always, it’s unclear whether the handset or theme will be available in Canada, though it will almost certainly debut in China. It’s also worth noting that this could be solely a promotional poster blown out of proportion.
In other Star Wars-related mobile news, rumours also point to OnePlus working on a Star Wars-themed OnePlus 5T.
